Some of you may have noticed me around recently in camo clothing and a very BIG lense.  Thanks to Phil Burridge I have been able to borrow the enormous brute in this photo.  Lugging this lense around the woods between Furneux and Brent Pelham is a feat in itself!

My passion is photographing our feathered friends (our local birds) and any other wildlife that might turn up.  I never cease to wonder at the variety of wildlife around us in the Pelhams and feel it my duty to use the website to share what I have found.

This morning (Easter Sunday 8 April 2007) I heard my first Blackcaps this year.  If you click here you will see (or more accurately hear) why it's nickname is the northern Nightingale.  Please be patient as I add or replace photos. I hope this wildlife section of the website inspires you to marvel at the creation around us and helps you to put a name to what you might come across.

For those into Camera Gear the lense is a Canon EF 400mm 1:2.8 L IS USM with a 2x extender.  By the way as a thank you to Phil - why not visit www.justgiving.com/chunkyphil to sponsor his Bike Ride for Leukaemia Research?
